Counseling Philosophy

I believe that growth doesn’t always happen in isolation. Sometimes, it takes connection, support, and a safe space to ignite our inner resilience. As a counselor, I strive to offer a space where clients feel seen, heard, and accepted as they are.

My approach is warm, curious, and collaborative. I draw from psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral therapies while integrating insights from neuroscience. I pay attention to the deeper roots of emotional patterns and help clients develop skills for navigating both present struggles and long-term personal growth. I approach therapy holistically, honoring the wider context of each person’s life, and I remain flexible in my methods to meet the unique needs of each client.

I enjoy working with individual adults, especially around anxiety, depression, work-related stress, identity development, and issues related to the acculturation process. I have a strong interest in supporting immigrants, international students, and individuals navigating multicultural or intergenerational family dynamics.

I bring openness, empathy, and cultural humility to my work. As a bilingual, bicultural clinician, I offer therapy in both English and Mandarin and welcome clients from all backgrounds. My hope is that clients leave our sessions not only with practical tools for coping, but also with a renewed sense of self-trust, clarity, and purpose.
